What can teachers do for social cohesion?

What can teachers do for social cohesion?

Two things play a very important role in creation and development, firstly, the teacher and secondly, the institution. Through them, human attitudes and character are analyzed. The responsibility of education and training falls on the teachers after the parents. It is the duty of the teacher not only to focus on his subject but also to train him morally to balance his personality. In the cycle of professionalism, we have left behind the issues of human character building and moral training. To get maximum marks, parents send their children to the best institutions, enroll them in academies so that their children can get good marks in examinations and get a better place in society thanks to them. It is as if both teachers and parents have resigned from their duties and their ambition is to acquire professional skills instead of humanization.

It is very difficult to expect tolerance and harmony in society when the duty of humanization is resigned. Our society is diverse. It has religious diversity as well as social diversity. We do not find such diversity anywhere in the world except in one or two Muslim countries. In this highly diverse society, the responsibilities of teachers increase. Any sentence uttered by the teacher is imprinted on the mind of the student. Therefore, when teachers express their professional or intellectual affiliations, this expression definitely has its effect on the minds of the students. Unfortunately, teachers only aim to expand the circle of their profession or religion and they consider it their duty to include the students in their circle by preaching so that the number of like-minded people may increase. Can be made To maintain their identity, teachers prey on their students and make them the fuel of their desires.

Unfortunately, teachers are not imparting moral training and this is because they have become preachers of their own doctrines. One reason for this is that teachers are becoming people who can't find another job. The theory of necessity makes them teachers and this attitude are not worthy of this profession in any way. The question is why teachers are so important? The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “I am like a father to you and I teach you as a father teaches his child. ”Imam Abu Yusuf says that if a teacher has to test how good he is, then see if he teaches other people's children in the same way as he teaches his own child. Is taught or not. If he teaches like this, then understand that he is a good teacher, otherwise not. The meaning of a hadith of the Holy Prophet is that a man who has been made responsible for a matter of Muslims and if he has spent all his efforts to improve it. If he does not try, he will be thrown into Hell on the Day of Resurrection. This hadith is general, but it also includes teachers. Teachers should reconsider how well they are embracing the teaching profession. The goal is not to discourage teachers. It is also not intended that they should leave the profession. Rather, it means that we should reconsider that there is no deviation in our character and actions. If there is such a thing, then teachers should reiterate their true purpose.
